Hi-Resolution ESS ES9218 SABRE Quad-DAC
Some people say there is no good sounding gaming headset. Those people have not heard ROG Delta. The hi-fi-grade ESS 9218 Quad-DAC provides lossless audio processing with each DAC devoting its processing power to a subset of the audible frequency range, from lows, mids, highs to ultra-highs. The four signals are then combined, which produces clearer sound with an impressive 127-dB SNR that's much higher than any device in the market. As a result, you can hear and place in-game sounds with pinpoint accuracy, letting you precisely judge enemy distance, direction of footsteps, gunshot locations and more. Hear every detail and enjoy crisp, clear sound for a true-to-life audio experience.

Exclusive Hyper-Grounding Technology
Hyper-Grounding is ROG's exclusive technology, which utilizes a multi-layer PCB and a special layout design to prevent electromagnetic interference, resulting in pure, noise-free audio. Due to this innovative technology, ROG Delta is the world's first gaming headset with RGB lighting that is able to include an ESS Quad DAC and unlock its full potential to provide gamers rich, powerful sound unmatched by other gaming headsets.

High SNR in FPS Games
Signal to noise ratio is a critical specification for gaming headsets, especially in FPS games. A higher SNR allows you to precisely pinpoint the origin of enemy footsteps, or hone in on the location of gunfire or explosions on battlefield. With its quad-DAC design, ROG Delta is capable of achieving an unprecedented signal-to-noise ratio of 127 dB, a level untouchable by single-DAC gaming headsets.

Crystal-Clear Highs and Punchy Bass
With ROG Delta, the exclusive ASUS Essence drivers have been updated with Audio Signal Diversion technology, giving them a circular wall that helps separate high, low and medium frequency sounds, reducing interference between frequency ranges for purer and clearer audio. Additionally, the drivers feature a wide frequency response of 20Hz-40kHz to provide incredibly strong bass and optimized gaming sound, so you'll hear every detail while enjoying an all-around immersive acoustic experience.

Exclusive Circular Rainbow RGB Lighting
Show your style with customizable Aura RGB lighting. ROG Delta leaves single-color lighting behind as the world's first gaming headset to feature rainbow circular RGB lighting. This captivating effect features seven independent lighting zones with dazzling multicolor cycling displays. Choose from over 16.8 million color combinations and six preset lighting effects.

ROG Armoury II is a software that offers extensive controls and an intuitive UI, so you can easily tune ROG Delta to play your way. Take full control of your audio experience, from equalization (EQ) to 7.1-speaker level-balancing, and even create and apply audio profiles for different game types and scenarios, such as first-person shooters and racing, with ease.

Audio Experience

Since being a gaming headset, the audio lover will get little disappointed by the music experience. High frequency are not very clear, headset outputs good bass, but I feel some deep bass part (boom-boom) is little missing. On the other hand gaming experience was good. When tuned with ROG Armoury II Software package, the headset enhanced the in-game audio experience, especially in first-person shooters.

Pros

  • Nice Design
  • Very Comfortable
  • USB-C connector
  • Included a USB-C to USB 2.0 (Type-A) adapter
  • Multiplatform Compatibility
  • Nice in-game audio experience

Cons

  • Not for music lovers

Conclusion

ROG DELTA Gaming Headset is serially a pretty impressive headset for gaming. Nice to see here that ASUS featured a USB-C connector for this ROG DELTA headset which allows the headset to connect with nearly every gaming platform, including PCs, consoles and mobile devices. It's great to see a universal connectivity on this headset and hope other manufacturers implement this too.

On the other end, the music experience on ROG DELTA headset was not that good. High tones and vocals feel little suppressed on this headset when compared with HyperX Cloud paired with ASUS Xonar U7 USB sound card. Nice headphone amp in Xonar U7 USB sound card delivers great audio experience.

Finally, if you want a luxury universal gaming headset, the ROG DELTA Gaming Headset is my personal option to choose.
