AMD Ryzen 9 7900X Desktop Processor Review

Today we are reviewing another Ryzen 7000 Series Desktop processor, powered by the new "Zen 4" Core Architecture, the AMD Ryzen 9 7900X processor, offering up to 12 Cores and 24 Threads at a TDP of 170W, base frequency of 4.7 GHz to a maximum Boost of up to 5.6GHz. Built on an optimized, high-performance, TSMC 5nm process node, the AMD Ryzen 9 7900X processor deliver dominant performance and leadership energy efficiency

Now let’s see what more the new AMD Ryzen 9 7900X desktop processor have for us.

Zen 4 Platform

Zen 4 CPU Core

Being a 170W TDP processor, AMD don’t include any cooler with the Ryzen 9 7900X processor. But recommends a Liquid cooler for optimal performance.

For testing the performance for the new AMD Ryzen 9 7900X desktop processor, we ran few CPU benchmarks and compared it with AMD Ryzen 9 7900 desktop processor. All the CPUs under test were kept to their stock factory settings/ clock speeds as provided by their manufacturers. No overclocking is applied, as overclocking capability of CPU varies from chip to chip, cooling capabilities and many more factors. We also used same liquid cooling solution for all CPUs and ran all tests on same approx. ambient temperature.
