With a lot of competition in the mid-range headset market, does the Cerberus V2 headset have that potential to attract gamers and music lovers toward it ?

Exclusive 53mm Asus Essence drivers -Stronger bass, clearer sound. Exclusive ASUS Essence drivers bring gaming audio to a whole new level, fully immersing you in the game with lifelike sound effects. ASUS engineers reduced the size of the drivers from 60mm in the original Cerberus to 53mm in Cerberus V2, enabling the headphones to have larger chambers for richer, more natural sound. Combined with the drivers' wide frequency response that delivers hard-hitting bass and detailed mid- and high-range pitches, Cerberus V2 is not only great for gaming, but for music listening as well.
Stainless steel headband - Tough, long-lasting design To withstand the rigors of intense gaming, Cerberus V2's headband has been redesigned with a durable, stainless-steel construction. This new design is not only 70% stronger than the original Cerberus, but 60% lighter and 50% thinner as well, making it more comfortable and well suited for long gaming sessions and listening to music on the go.
Wrap-around ear cushions - 50% better sound insulation Cerberus V2 has all-new ear cushions that provide a 30% larger coverage area and 50% better sound insulation to keep you more comfortable and immersed in your game.
Dual microphones - Good for gaming and on-the-go chat Cerberus V2 is thoughtfully designed with two microphones: a detachable boom mic that provides clear communication when gaming, and an in-line microphone that is convenient for phone calls and other everyday tasks.
Cross-platform compatibility Cerberus V2's 4-pole audio/mic combined connector provides compatibility with PC and Mac, gaming consoles, and mobile devices. An included audio/mic splitter also enables Cerberus V2 to be used with dual-port devices, including motherboards and certain laptop models.

Audio Experience
The cushioning on the ear-cups provided lot of comfort during long hours of use. The music listening experience was a good job on Cerberus V2 headset. The 53mm driver produced perfect balance of mid and high range of audio spectrum alongside you can feel a bit high bass response rendered.
Gaming Experience
The in-game audio experience using the ASUS Cerberus V2 Gaming headset is very impressive. The dialogs, gunshots, scratching sounds and in-game music all sounded wonderfully well, giving a pleasant gaming experience.
Pros
- High Bass response
- Compatible with mobile devices
- Comfortable ear pads
- Long braided cables
- Detachable microphone with flexible arm
- Nice price
Cons
- Massive bass, may not appeal to natural or balanced audio lover
- While using with mobile device and walking, one can hear overhead steel headband introducing some resonance inside the earcup synchronized with your footsteps.
Conclusion
ASUS Cerberus V2 Gaming headset is a very good when it comes to comfort and design. Bass fan boys will love this headset as it produces massive base which is what typically all gamers wants. But similarly it may not appeal to natural or balanced audio lover.
Mobile experience with this headset was not very pleasant. While using with mobile device and walking, one can hear overhead steel headband introducing some resonance inside the ear-cups synchronized with your footsteps. Wearing it and running with low volume music is a total NO.
Also like to add that the whole audio quality and experience depends on the audio-output device and the audio content itself. In my case I listened to lossless audio files via ASUS Xonar U7 USB sound card. So the ASUS Cerberus V2 Gaming headset performed decent in music and very good in gaming, especially considering the price of Rs.4.2K (approx) .
Finally, with a mid range price and heavy bass response, the Cerberus V2 Gaming headset is a must recommendation for the gamers and heavy bass lovers, making it worthy of our PC TeK INDIA Choice Award.
