Cooler Master V750 Power Supply Review
Cooler Master has earned a great reputation with their power supplies in the desktop and enthusiast market. We have earlier reviews the Cooler Master V1200 Platinum Power Supply which is one of the top of line and most successful power supply offered by Cooler Master. Following the same trend Cooler Master has introduced a new fully modular and compact design, 750 watts V series PSU, the Cooler Master V750. A whisper-quiet PSU using the high performance Silencio FP Fan and all Japanese Capacitors.
Now let's see what this Cooler Master V750 PSU has for us.
Features
COMPACT AND QUIET
V Series power supplies are fully modular with compact and quiet engineering. Maintain whisper-quiet operation through the addition of the high performance Silencio FP fan and 100% Japanese capacitors for a power package that lets you build with total confidence.
Powerfully Compact
The V series are powerfully small. Only 5.5 inches / 140mm versus 7 inches / 180mm typical length - 22% smaller in volume!
Silencio FP Fan
Silencio FP fan is especially designed to improve thermal dissipation. The sickle blade design can generate 25% higher air pressure to reduce thermal de-rating on power components improving efficiency.
Unique 3D Circuit Design
A Cooler Master exclusive 3D circuit design delivers more power in a smaller package. Clean stable voltages contribute to less stress on valuable components extending system life and reducing system instability.
Fully Modular Design
Our design is modular from the inside to the outside. On the inside revolutionary design combines with fully modular, flat ribbon cables.
COVERAGE
Enjoy worry-free product confidence with 5-year parts and replacement warranty along with full support and replacement costs covered by Cooler Master.
POWER CHART
Powerful single +12V rail provides superior load balancing and graphics card compatibility.
Specifications
Package
Cooler Master CMV750 comes in a securely packaged box with PSU graphics, Model name and features highlights on front and the back of the box.
Inside the box
Outer box contains a cardboard box includes CMV750 within velvet drawstring bag, Module cables within a pouch, Power cable, cable-ties , and User manual
Looks
Cooler Master V Series PSUs always gave a rich look, thanks to the contrast between the brushed aluminium plate and the textured black finish of the power supply unit.
Inside
Cooler Master V750 power supply board is a Seasonic design and the build quality is actually very high and uses all Japanese capacitors in the primary and secondary stage.
Cooler Master are uses their 120mm Silencio FP (DF1202512RFLN) fan with sickle blade design with a 12 V and 0.16 A rating inside the V750 power supply.

Custom made DC Active dummy load PSU tester.
Load Test
To test the PSU on my Active load test, I have manually increased the load in Amps on 12v first rail, 12v second rail, 5v and 3.3v rail to simulate 100%, 80% 50% and 20% load. Since this PSU is having only single 12v rail, so divided the load in half on both 12v loads on my tester.
5V stand-by and -12V supply was left at a constant 0.5amp load throughout the test run.
Maximum theoretical load handling capacity of my tester is somewhat around 1500W, but due to MOSFETs safe operating area (SOA) characteristics and thermal load handling capacity of the heatsinks, this tester can handle Max 1300W.. For safety reasons I have also installed a thermal controller which turn OFF the attached PSU if temperature exceeds SOA specifications.
During test the tester turned OFF the PSU after approx 12 sec at 100% load.
Pros
- ALL Japanese capacitors
- Fully Modular
- Low noise fan
- High build quality
- 5 years warranty
Cons
- 24 pin black flat cable having wires of different diameters, the wires used for “power on, power good, stand-by and -12v" are thinner than the rest of wires.
Conclusion
Cooler Master V750 PSU in our test showed good voltage stability and 80 PLUS Gold efficiency. PSU fan was very quite at low and modest load, and was little noticeable under full load too. The protection circuit OCP worked perfect and PSU turned itself off when tried to pull over 820 watts.
Finally Cooler Master New V750 fully modular PSU is one of the best performance units in the upper middle class of PSUs. With full- modular cables, all Japanese capacitors, Silencio FP Fan and a 5 year warranty Cooler Master V750 is best option for system builders looking for a high power, 80 PLUS Gold efficiency and Compact PSU.
