Bundled Software

NZXT KRAKEN 240 Cooler supports NZXT CAM software which can be easily downloaded from NZXT website.

For testing thermal capability we manually overclocked AMD Ryzen 9 5950X and stressed the CPU using AIDA64 for 10 minutes. We set NZXT KRAKEN 240 CPU cooler using NZXT CAM software to ‘Silent’.

We choose ‘Silent’ profile in our testing because the new 7th gen Asetek pump used in the cooler was running at about 2300RPM in this setting and stays quiet. To keep consistency in all our AIO coolers testing we try to keep pump RPM close to 2300RPM.

Ambient Temperature 33C

NZXT KRAKEN 240 CPU cooler maintained stable CPU temperature and provide constant CPU performance.

Pros

  • No RGB
  • 1.54" Transmissive TFT, 262K color LCD screen
  • Silent Asetek Pump
  • NZXT CAM support
  • Easy Installation
  • Two F120P Static Pressure Fan
  • Great Price

Cons

  • Even at max brightness LCD display was little dark

Conclusion

In our testing, being a 240mm AIO cooler, the NZXT KRAKEN 240 performed good and maintained a stable temperature on a high-end AMD Ryzen 9 5950X CPU. Max temp reached was 72C and whole cooler was very silent during long test runs. The 1.54" Transmissive TFT LCD was on little darker side in brightness section, even with max brightness set in the NZXT CAM software some users with a dark tampered glass side panel PC Case, may find LCD to be little dull.

In the current PC hardware scenario, where brands are trying to put RGB on every possible peripheral, the NZXT KRAKEN 240 Liquid CPU Cooler is great option for Non-RGB professional PC build and it’s LCD can be used to display some useful real-time system information.

Finally at a great price of Rs.11.5K (approx.) the NZXT KRAKEN 240 Liquid CPU cooler is worthy of our PC TeK Reviews Value Award.
